Matthew Foley
Matthew Foley is a Client Service Officer at Kofkin Bond & Co, where he is completing his Professional Year to complete his Bachelor of Business majoring in Financial Planning. After three years of study at RMIT University, Matthew transitioned into a fulltime position with the firm, allowing him to apply his academic foundations directly to client work and build practical industry experience.
In his role as a Client Service Officer, Matthew supports the advice team by preparing documentation, conducting research, assisting with strategy development, and ensuring a seamless experience for clients. His role gives him early exposure to the operational and strategic elements of financial planning, strengthening the skills he will need as he advances in the profession.
Driven by his goal of becoming a financial adviser, Matthew actively seeks opportunities to learn from the senior advisers within the firm. He regularly sits in on client meetings to observe how advice is delivered, understand client needs firsthand, and build confidence in professional interactions. This proactive, hands-on learning approach is helping him develop into a thoughtful and capable future adviser.
Outside of his professional career, Matthew has an extensive sporting background. He spent the past three years playing VFL at Essendon, gaining experience at a high level of competition, and has recently moved to join the Coburg Lions. Alongside his own footy career, he is a passionate supporter of the Geelong Cats and follows a wide range of sports, including NBA and cricket. His leadership, competitiveness, and team's first mentality in sport translate strongly into his work and approach to personal development.
